An Age-Old Story
The church was bowed in grief this week to learn that one of our most valuable members, Someone Else, passed away. This death creates a vacancy that will be difficult to fill. Someone Else has been with us for many years. During all these years, he did far more than a normal person's share of the work.
Whenever leadership was mentioned, this wonderful person was looked to for inspiration as well as results.
Whenever there was a job to do — a class to teach, or a meeting to attend — one name was on everyone's list: "Let Someone Else do it."
Someone Else was also among the largest givers of the church. Whenever there was a financial need, everyone just assumed that Someone Else would make up the difference.
This beloved church member was a wonderful person, sometimes appearing super-human; but a person can only do so much. Others are needed to pitch in to do the things that Someone Else had done. If you are asked to take a job in church, we hope you won't reply, "Let Someone Else do it." Now we need you to pick up where Someone Else left off.
Attention All Women:
The first meeting of the year for our women will be held this Wednesday, January 18th, at 10 a.m. We will decide at that meeting when we want to resume our Wednesday craft sessions. Please join us for the meeting and we plan to go out to lunch at one of our local restaurants.

Cards Needed
Birthday cards and Christmas cards can be recycled. Please bring them with you when you come to church.
You Choose
Thrivent members are reminded of the ability to designate dollars to Christ Lutheran Church. Certain dollar amounts are available based on investments. Proceeds can be designated to support the work of our congregation if we so designate. Please check with Pastor if you need assistance.
Thanks
We express our thanks to those who assisted in taking down Christmas decorations this past Wednesday. We got the job done and enjoyed the fellowship coffee and donuts. A belated thanks to those who participated in putting up the decorations before our holiday celebrations.
I’m Involved
We want to remind members of opportunities that are available to participate in the work of our congregation. We rely on readers, acolytes, Sunday School staff, greeters, and people for coffee fellowship.
