Precious Promises

God promises rewards to those who love him and give sacrifi-cially to him.  The Bible says . . .

You Will Be Rewarded in This Life: Malachi 3:10 - "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse... Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."

You Will Be Laying Up Treas-ures in Heaven: Matthew 6:19-20 - "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

You Will Be Rewarded in Heaven: Matthew 25:23 - "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master's happiness!"

We give not to be rewarded, but appreciate God’s additional bless-ings to us when we give in love.

Altar Flowers – In praise and thanksgiving to God, the chancel flowers are given by Norm Shire, in remembrance of his wife Fran-ces. We thank him for his kind-ness.

Help for Haiti

The Lutheran church -- Mis-souri Synod responds to crisis at various times with financial sup-port.  This is going on now for those struggling in Haiti.

While some may have already responded to efforts to help Hai-tians we would like to offer an opportunity to those who still de-sire to do so.  This is an effort that takes place by our church body.  The church headquarters in St. Louis have staff in place to assist so that the gifts can go to relief and not administration.

We share with you envelopes that can be used for this effort.  We invite you to take them home and prayerfully consider returning a gift next Sunday.  You may give a gift today if you are ready.  We would like to get these funds to where they are needed as soon as possible.  We will send them out on February 1.

You are invited to include your name or envelope number so that we can record your gift for your records.

If you have any questions, please contact our church office.
